A trip out to Lochanside Alpacas this week was exciting. I experienced the thrill of dyeing yarn. Lynn did a great job on my Alpaca/Merino wool.
This gorgeous landscape was my inspiration for the Autumn colours. Then I colour matched to some wools that I had.
Lyn mixed up the dyes and into the pot it went. The exciting part was watching it change and not really knowing what colour it would end up!
Wow! I love it! Not quite as dark as I imagined but they are great colours.
I just finished balling up the hanks. Now I am set for making this awesome NZ grown and made Alpaca/Merino wool into unique, original, cosy and warm beanies for those in the Northern Hemisphere who are heading into Autumn/Winter.
